Capping sheets

The top layer must withstand wind and weather. High-quality membranes such as the BauderKARAT set standards that far exceed DIN specifications. If the use of a torch is not permitted due to fire protection
requirements, then cold self-adhesive membranes should be used.

For roof plantings, root-resistant torch-on special bitumen membranes must be used.

Worth knowing ...

What are high-grade membranes?

In practice the demands on a waterproofing membrane are often greater than specified in the relevant standards. This has led to the development of higher-quality polymer bitumen membranes with properties that far outperform the minimum requirements of the standard. High-grade membranes offer better performance characteristics than standard membranes, and bring enhanced reliability to a roof. They are used wherever the situation calls for high quality, installation in accordance with good site practice, and long-term functionality.

They consist of extremely durable reinforcements combined with high-quality polymer bitumen facings (elastomer bitumen and/or plastomer bitumen formulations) with excellent heat resistance, cold flexibility and resistance to ageing.
