Installing synthetic membranes.
Synthetic roofing membranes are usually installed in a 'loose laid' system.
Layers can be secured either by mechanical means or by suitable ballast. If the membranes are to be fastened mechanically, a plan for fastening the margins, main area or lines is drawn up in accordance with DIN 1055-2005 Part 4. For ballasted systems, only specially designed and tested roofing membranes may be used.
Specific stresses such as standing water, microorganisms and root growth are the factors that determine the type of roof waterproofing membrane to be used for any given application.
Synthetic roofing membranes are remarkably thin and designed to have very specific properties; as a result they represent a highly efficient waterproofing system that is both durable and reliable.
