Life on the roof
Every green roof creates a new living space on the roof. Intensive plantings with areas of lawn and plants, paths and seating areas can be designed and used like a garden. Extensive plantings, on the other hand, consist of self-sufficient and predominantly low-growing plants, and are only accessed for inspection and maintenance. Both forms of roof planting are valuable and interesting alternative habitats for fauna and flora. They give back to nature a little of what is lost at ground level through building.
