Pitched roof membranes

Below the roof system a subroof membrane, underlay or sarking membrane provides a second protective layer or water-draining layer against moisture and the effects of the weather. This prevents driving rain, fine snow and melt water etc. from penetrating the roof structure and the thermal insulation. If the roof cladding develops a defect, this second water-draining level is the only protection against possible damage to the building, so it must meet exacting standards from the outset. But there is always room for improvement - even with the very best of protection. With its ground-breaking bitumen roofing membranes, Bauder has repeatedly been at the forefront of new developments for pitched roofs. For many roofing contractors, the name BauderTOP is still synonymous with high-quality pitched roof membranes. Reliability, quality and efficiency are the key factors behind every ongoing development. Whether time-saving self-adhesive lap technology or breathability – Bauder provides solutions for every application and requirement.

Breathable bitumen membranes - uncompromisingly reliable

It is becoming increasingly common for the second water-draining level in a pitched roof to be breathable. By virtue of a patented coating process Bauder has succeeded in combining the well-known advantages of bitumen - durability and waterproofness - with extreme breathability (sd ≤ 0.1 m).

Bauder's breathable bitumen underlays thus open a new dimension in terms of the reliability of pitched-roof structures without back ventilation.
The range of Bauder products extends from the durable, breathable BauderTOP DIFUTEX NSK with its self-sealing lap to the top-end BauderTOP DIFUBIT NSK, which even meets the criteria for a breathable, waterproof or rain-resistant subroof (additional measures required).
